Tips on attracting and retaining customers

Inside Retailing (http://www.insideretailing.com.au) has recently released some tips for online retailers to reduce churn - with “62% of Australians ceasing their relationship with with an online retailer following a poor customer experience.”

1. Make it easy. This means making everything transparent. Showing customers things like delivery costs up front rather than leaving it till last minute would improve satisfaction. Those surveyed also said that they would like delivery times and return policies to be shown clearly as well too.

2. Help customers make the process easier. Customers want to be able to ask questions easily and also want it to be easy to access information.

3. Customers want to have easy points of contact. Email, phone, web self-service, web chat and face to face communication.
