
Westfield, along with Australian and International celebrities have created temporary pop-up stores to raise money for Cerebral Palsy.
Australian actress Miranda Otto launched the national opening of the Westfield Give Ability store Tuesday at Westfield Bondi Junction.
The Give Ability store is a seven metre by seven metre pop up charity store stocked with items donated by Australian and International celebrities, fashion designers and retailers to be sold for charity in the hub of the shopping centre.
The doors officially opened at 1.30pm to adrenalin charged queue of shoppers, gearing to grab a bargain and to own a one-off piece of wardrobe from their favourite celebrity or designer.
As Sami Lukis, ambassador to Cerebral Palsy Alliance said: “Where in the world can you stand in a shop - buy vintage clothes from such a collection of amazing Australia’s celebrities including Naomi Watts’ Liberty beauty case, Sarah Murdoch’s much loved Calvin Klein silk strapless dress that she bought in NY, Dan MacPherson’s Hugo Boss suit, Liev Schreiber’s sweater from the movie Manchurian Candidate, Jennifer Hawkins heels, or Top Model Kelsey’s Alex Perry dress worn on finale of Australia’s Next Top Model?”
Miranda Otto, Ambassador to the Westfield Give Ability program donated a few prizes possessions to help raise funds.
“This Collette Dinnigan dress has been a prized piece in my wardrobe, it’s always been such a fun dress to wear with its flattering tailoring. I hope it finds a great place in someone else’s wardrobe as well. My other donated item, my Tan & Brown clutch also goes perfectly with this dress!”
Westfield is hoping to raise $50,000 within five days with 100 per cent of sales going to to Cerebral Palsy Alliance (NSW).
The store will move to Melbourne the following week for five days, opening on Tuesday July 26.
The Giveability has national reach as as exclusive items have been reserved for online auction on westfield.com.au from Kylie Minogue, Naomi Watts, Anthony La Paglia, Olympic champion Torah Bright and Australian fast bowler Mitchell Johnson.
